2018 Midterm Election

Overview: Infographic

Role: Data Visualizer

Tools: Adobe Illustration, Adobe Photoshop, Tableu, Microsoft Excel

After the 2018 Midterm Election, one could observe that the U.S. Congress was struggling with it being able to represent the population of the country. In this infographic, I analyze the demographics of the most recent election and highlight the inequalities between both gender and race in our current caucus.

Sketch

I wanted to show a dichotomy with the poster, therefore I made two columns at the top to contrast the House and the Senate.

Wireframe

Then I created a wireframe to illustrate where everything will be placed once brought into Adobe Illustrator.

Preliminary

The color choice for my preliminary design contrasted too much making the viewer’s vision to vibrate and make the information not legible.

In the end, the infographic consisted of data that was emphasizing the inequality between the sexes in the United States Congress. It is still apparent that it is unbalances when it comes to Caucasian and people of color incumbents.
